San Diego Area Writing Project teachers share the belief that
writing is a process. Young Writers' Camp engages students in
that process and allows them to discover their own style, voice
and potential.
Our goal is that each young writer, regardless of skill level,
has the time and space to experiment in a variety of genres while
developing creativity and confidence.
--I want to express my sincere appreciation for all that you
taught my son last summer. From his first moments in class, he
sensed that your teachers were unique. They loved writing and
believed that every person had something special to share. . .
I recognize that there are small and often obscure windows of
opportunity to reach students. You were able to find one of those
little windows with my son and leave a long lasting impression.
Parent, YWC.
THE POETRY OF UCSD Karli Cadel
Tiny feet sway, teasing the rippling fountain water
that shimmers beneath
like diamonds under a moonlit sky
twisting and turning
the pool unfolds
like a plush blue velt cape
draping the minds of young writers
and unfurling the future stories
they have to tell.
