UCSD is redoubling its efforts to recruit underrepresented students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and is implementing new programs to increase student retention and graduation rates as well. Currently, UCSD focuses on outreach, recruitment, and retention goals by providing: informational and educational programming both on and off campus; tutoring and other direct interventions with students; and admissions outreach efforts designed to motivate students and enhance their academic preparation for admission to UCSD and comparable institutions.
